Viewing Rose Floats

I have never been to the Rose parade but when Phil was younger he used to go often with his family. This year we didn't quite make it to the parade but we were able to go the next day to view the floats on display. It is pretty amazing how intricate these floats are and how every single part of it is made with organic material. It is all flowers, seeds, bark, fruits, and anything else you can imagine. My favorite float was the "Who let the dogs out" float. If you watched the parade you saw it was a mountain of snow (made of coconut shavings) and there were bulldogs that sled down it. Luckily we were able to see the dogs sledding at the viewing :)

The ramp for the dogs to ride down.

Healthcare can afford a $60,000 float but not our citizens... weird. Sorry had to throw that in there :)

Cal Poly float! Viewers Choice AWARD!!!

My favorite float. Probably because this is the golden angel in Mexico City. Every time someone came to visit us while we lived in Mexico City we took them to this statue by the Cathedral. It is a very good representation of the angel.
